Summer Boating Events at Put In Bay

We have a great line up of boating events in Put-in-Bay this summer.

This is the 127th Annual ILYA (Inter-lake Yachting Association) Regatta. Unfortunately Junior Bay Week has been canceled but the adult regattas are going on as planned. The Put-in-Bay Yacht Club is again the host club for the events and the social center of the regatta. COVID-19 will play a role in this year's event for certain, social distancing and masks will be advised for the social events. The Senior Sail Regatta will be July 30th- August 2nd. This year the Sail regatta will be host to the Formula Wave Class National Championships. These small Cats are amazing to watch even if you can't be on the water sailing with them! It is very important that you register soon, reserving dockage is always a high priority and this year's regatta is no exception. ILYA Power Junior and Senior Power Regatta is set to take place August 5th-9th. This family friendly event provides activities and competitions for attending power boat owners. This years Junior Power Regatta, for kids aged 12-18 yrs will take place as planned. For everyone interested, social activities can be signed up for, even if you can't have your boat here. Lake Erie Offshore Power Association (LEOPA) returns to the bay again in 2020 for "ThunderFest". These sleek high performance power boats are loud and fun to watch. The ThunderFest event itself is on Saturday, August 1st. The boats depart from B-Dock around 10am and return to B-Dock in the mid-afternoon after traveling over 100 miles and making "5 card stops" as part of their on the water competition. Over the years Lake Erie Offshore Performance Association (LEOPA) has used this event to raise and donate tens of thousands of dollars to local and national charities.
