Set No Limits

Currently we are all experiencing something incredibly different than our normal way of life: having regulations as to where we can travel and whom we can socialize with. With so many regulations and restrictions in place, it’s easy to begin to feel trapped, isolated, and lonely. The feeling of being limitless is what we are all currently missing—something many take for granted in a normal routine.

For many of us, boating brings a sense of calm sanity into our normally busy, hectic schedules. Being on the water can soothe the soul and open our minds and hearts to a sense of freedom. The waterways seem ever-expanding with endless options, allowing us to go where the wind blows us. That sense of being limitless does not have to only occur on the water, however; it can be expanded to anywhere of your choosing.

As a custom boat trailer manufacturer, we at Loadmaster Trailer, located in Port Clinton, Ohio, pride ourselves on building strong, custom, high-quality trailers that our customers can trust. We build often for the unbuildable and cut no corners in terms of quality or strength. Our trailers allow our customers to go wherever they would like, by land or water—and to us, that brings great pride. Many boats are deemed “un-trailerable” when they are considered oversized by federal standards. However, the options really are endless for a lot of boats. Permits can be obtained for boats/trailers that are over width and/or over height, allowing our customers to safely and legally tow their boats wherever they desire.

We do our best to keep up to date on the latest technologies and innovations in the trailer industry, as well as to work closely with suppliers and producers to create products that our customers can use. In an ever-evolving industry, it is important to remain in-the-know and ensure the offerings for our customers are of high quality and add to the ease of their trailering experience.

The latest technology advances allow customers to add tracking devices to their trailers, as well as WiFi/Bluetooth powered braking systems from within their tow vehicles. We can add cameras to the rear of trailers, back up lights, mid-frame turn signals, etc. to increase the safety for our customers, as well as others on the road.

The plethora of options for LED lighting is incredible. Some of these lights are for safety reasons, some are for fun, and others are for legality. Aside from the standard required lighting, boat trailers can now be built with flashing lights, strobe lights, bright spot lights for nighttime loading and launching, and flashy show-stopper lights to really “wow” those around you. Each year, the lights get better equipped to handle rough use, immense water submersion, and all terrain conditions.

Trailer brakes are continuing to improve as well. Our company’s favorite braking systems are electric drums for freshwater use and electric over hydraulic discs for saltwater use. An electric style brake is legal in every state and all throughout Canada. Surge style brakes are not legal in every state. For our very large and heavy trailers, we do have customers that request air style brakes and, although quite costly, they can be incorporated on our trailers. Being safe on the road is the most important factor for all of our customers, and we do everything we can to ensure our customers have a trailer that will stop when they want it to and protect against unruly situations.

Although we are located in the small town of Port Clinton, Ohio, nestled on the shore of Lake Erie, our trailers are custom built to order and delivered all over the United States. Our trailers are also imported into Canada and shipped overseas for our international customers. Although designing each trailer to order for every customer is incredibly labor intensive and intricate, the end result of a happy customer is well worth the extra effort. As a small, family-owned and operated business, we pride ourselves in great customer service while also building a strong, quality product our customers trust. This is the core to our foundation as a manufacturing business. Our goal is to know that our customers and their boats are safe on the road, while also providing them an easy trailering experience.

Like those who design their own boats with the boat manufacturer they choose, our customers get to help in the design of the perfect trailer to match their needs and the boat’s requirements. Together, the boat and trailer provide a sense of freedom to our customers. The options are limitless for your travel, so your homework is to make a bucket list of adventures remaining to be had. Where will you venture off to this summer? No matter your choice, be sure to do it safely and with the peace of mind knowing there are no limits.

Happy Boating! I hope to see you on the water!
