AYC regularly promotes yachting, sail, and powerboat contests, junior sailing activities, as well as addresses environment and safety concerns on the Great Lakes and neighboring waterways.

In late April for the past 30 years, River View Yacht Club has organized an annual trip to Put-in-Bay with the Jet Express coming to Toledo to pick-up passengers. For most of the past 29 years, as many as 500 people took part in the fun. The first Jet Express trip leaves from Toledo Yacht Club at 10 a.m. and returns from Put-in-Bay around 6 p.m. A second Jet Express trip leaves Toledo Yacht Club at 1 p.m. and returns from Put-in-Bay at 9 p.m. The cost is $60 per person.

“This has become the unofficial Opening of Put-in-Bay. Shops open for the 500 people taking the trip,” said Matt Antoine, 2019 Commodore, River View Yacht Club. “We’re happy to have organized something that has become so successful over the years. Everyone involve has a great time. It’s also a sure sign that summer’s coming. These trips are expected to sell-out as they have done in previous years, so those interested are encouraged to purchase their tickets early.”

Those interested in tickets for the trip to Put-in-Bay should contact Matt Antoine at 419-349-0353.

“Our community continues to work to improve our waterfront in Point Place and we actively encourage people get involved in boating and nautical activities --- Two of northwest Ohio’s greatest recreational assets,” said Stan Ziemkiewicz, Past Commodore, RVYC. “These are great opportunities for individuals and families to find out what we have to offer and to see if they would like to be part of our area boating community.”

RVYC was established in 1949. In its early years, RVYC worked with the City of Toledo to host the “Aquarama” boat races on the Maumee River near Walbridge Park. The club also hosts its annual regatta in July. For more information visit, or the club’s Facebook page, or phone 419-729-9251.
