Reefpoint Earns Top Marina Rating

Reefpoint Marina in Racine was recently awarded a four star “1st
status by the popular ActiveCaptain boater app. Reefpoint is the only marina on the Great
Lakes to earn this recognition, which is based strictly from boater reviews. ActiveCaptain is an
interactive boater app used by over 200,000 boaters across North America, the Caribbean and
Europe to rate marinas, anchorages and other boating destinations.
Reefpoint Marina in Racine, a 921 slip marina had seen occupancy deteriorate over the past
several years. In 2012 Racine County purchased the marina and in 2013 hired Milwaukee based
SG Marina (Division of Siegel-Gallagher Management Company) to take over management.
SG Marina upgraded the level of service to boaters and made maintenance a high priority.
Also added was a full calendar of events and reinforced consistent communication including
newsletters, emails and one on one interaction. This reversed the downward trend in
occupancy with about 85 new boaters joining Reefpoint for the 2014 season. Reefpoint Marina
has regained its status as a top destination for seasonal boaters and guest boaters on Lake
Michigan.
Carrie VanDera, Marina General Manager with SG Marina says, “We are continuing to build
on our success with very strong interest for the 2015 season. Over 60% of the existing annual
boaters have already paid in full for next season and close to 100 NEW boaters are already
committed. Compared to this point in time last year, Reefpoint Marina is ahead of the game.
We are continuing to exceed expectations by offering a first class marina that boaters are truly
proud to call home.”
SG Marina also manages Harbor Center Marina in Sheboygan, also a very popular marina,
particularly with guest boaters. Siegel-Gallagher Management Company, in addition to the
Marina Division, manages Class A office buildings, retail, condominiums and multi-family
property in the Midwest and South.
