Manitowoc Marina Purchases Nestegg Marine

Manitowoc Marina, LLC, has recently purchased the business and property holdings of Nestegg Marine of Marinette, Wis. A family run, full-service marina similar to Manitowoc Marina, Nestegg has also built their business on a strong reputation for personalized customer service. With similar products and services, this acquisition presented a perfect opportunity to expand the Manitowoc Marina brand deeper into Northeast Wisconsin.

Nestegg’s original owners, Jon and Sue Kukuk, have run the marina for the past 27 years. They are now ready to retire, so the opportunity arose for Manitowoc Marina to purchase the business and extend their brand of “customer first” service beyond their current Lake Michigan location.

According to Jon, “We have sold the business so we can begin to spend more time with family and find time to do the things we have missed over the years. It's been a great ride and we sure will miss all the fun times we have had.”

A convenient launch point for access to Green Bay and Door County, Nestegg’s high visibility, downtown location provides essential boating services to the local area. According to Manitowoc’s President, Rich Larsen, “Almost every aspect of the Nestegg’s business mirrors Manitowoc’s current operation. From boat sales, service, and storage, to marina dockage and an on-site ship store, we feel our experience and attention to customer satisfaction made this a logical extension of boating passion. We are all very excited to earn the trust of the Nestegg community.”

To ensure a seamless transition, all of Nestegg’s current staff will remain. Building and grounds improvement plans are also already underway to help beautify the current Nestegg site and provide the customers with an enhanced experience.

Manitowoc Marina is a family owned, full-service marina. They offer everything a boater needs on-site including certified repair service, inside storage, seasonal slips, ship’s store, and a well stocked parts department. They are also new boat dealers for Cutwater, Rossiter, and X-Yacht sailboats.
