What’s Ahead for Offshore Sailing School?

What a come-back year this has been. Our business has never been stronger—with more students clamoring for time on the water, learning new skills, sharing adventures with family and new friends, and doing it all safely. We thank the thousands of students who have entrusted their sailing and powerboating education to us for this past crazy and tumultuous year!

As we move into our 58th year (can you believe it?) we’ll continue doing what we do best. We’re still led and inspired by the world leaders in sailing education, Steve and Doris Colgate. In fact, their fascinating legacy story has been memorialized on the pages of OFFSHORE High, the new biography written by author Herb McCormick. Order it through OffshoreSailing.com, online book sellers, or wherever books are sold. It’s all about Grand Prix Racing, Big Business, and an Epic Love Story for the ages. Plenty of intrigue, celebrities, trips around the world, hard work, perseverance, and many of life’s lessons learned aboard and on land are shared. You won’t want to put it down!

We have wonderful sailing destinations to explore through our Colgate Sailing Adventures® hosted vacations in 2022. We’ll be sailing in St. Martin, Thailand, Croatia, and Seychelles, to name a few. We invite all Offshore Sailing School graduates, guests, and experienced sailors to join us.

We’re adding another catamaran to our fleet, a Leopard 45, at our St. Petersburg, Florida, location starting January 2022. We have a Leopard 40 at our Cape Coral, Florida, location already, along with monohulls and Colgate 26 fleet on Fort Myers Beach, Captiva Island, and St. Pete.

We are now offering our advanced courses: Coastal Navigation, Coastal Passage Making, Celestial Navigation, and Offshore Passage Making, exclusively for Offshore Sailing School graduates.

We also offer 2.5-day Monohull and Catamaran Refresher Courses for those re-entering sailing or wishing to refresh their skills, and a separate Close Quarters Maneuvering 2.5-day course with plenty of docking practice. Call us at 888-852-1865 for dates and availability.

Power catamaran cruising is gaining in popularity, so we have added a US Powerboating and Coastal Cruising certification course every week of the year at our Moorings base location on Tortola, BVI. You can still enjoy taking a sailing catamaran or monohull course at the lush and luxurious Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina in the British Virgin Islands too!

We’ve got boating adventures in store for everyone!
