The White Lake Classic Is A Boat Show And More

Goodrich Park in Whitehall, Mich., has been the location for a boat show for over 20 years, but this year’s boat show will be shifting gears and adding classic cars. Organized by the West Michigan Old Speckled Hen MG Car Club, the White Lake Classic Boat and Car Show will offer spectators a wide variety. The Vietnam-era Patrol Boat River (PBR) 7331 from Operation Black Sheep will be on display. In addition, there will be displays of antique outboard motors from the Antique Outboard Motor Club and farm engines from the Western Michigan Old Engine Club. A pancake breakfast will be available from the Northside Lions, and lunch will be available from the Montague and North Muskegon VFWs.

The show will be on Saturday, July 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Spectator entry is free. Participation registration is $10 starting at 7 a.m. and continuing to 11a.m. Classic wood, fiberglass, and metal boats built in 1993 and earlier are welcome, as well as classic cars built 1980 or earlier. There will be awards in five categories for boats, eight categories for cars, and “Best of Show” for each. This show is the day after the annual Cruz’In classic car parade in Whitehall and Montague, thus providing a fun weekend for the whole family in the White Lake area.
