The Coast Guard Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to strengthening the Coast Guard community and service by supporting members and families across the country. Its inaugural Great Lakes Region Maritime Salutes the Coast Guard event will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, aboard City Cruises’ “Spirit of Chicago” at Navy Pier. This event is an evening of fun, camaraderie and recognition of the important role the Coast Guard plays in the region and will feature a dinner, dancing, silent auction, raffles and a cruise.
“City Cruises is honored to partner with the Coast Guard Foundation to host this special evening aboard the Spirit of Chicago,” said Grace Fuller, event committee chair. “Bringing the maritime community together on the water at Navy Pier is a meaningful way to celebrate the Coast Guard’s presence in the region while creating an unforgettable experience for guests in support of those who serve.”
The event is open to the public, with tickets available for purchase. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for those interested in helping underwrite the event and support the Coast Guard Foundation’s mission in the Great Lakes region.
“The Coast Guard Foundation is proud to launch this inaugural Great Lakes Region Maritime Salutes the Coast Guard event in Chicago alongside City Cruises,” shared Susan Ludwig, Coast Guard Foundation president. “This gathering is an opportunity to recognize the extraordinary service of Coast Guard members across the Great Lakes and to bring together supporters who share a commitment to those who protect our waterways, safeguard our communities and serve our nation every day.”
