RECIPE: The Fireside Slide, a Drink to Compliment Your Campfire

Published: Saturday, September 18, 2021

Captain Tom and Captain Devin tend to have their most creative thoughts right around sunset, on a beach, and right after cautiously igniting the night’s fire pit with expired boat flares. (Please do NOT try this at home; Captain Devin is a trained professional!) There’s something about sparking up a beach bonfire that also ignites ingenious ideas! At this time in the evening, beach bodies have been sun kissed, kids’ bellies are full, and the hot summer air starts to cool. It’s the perfect time to gather around a fire for good conversations with good friends.

Our beach side fire pit has been the site for MANY a brilliant idea that COULD result in financial gain, if any of us had an inkling as to implement them in the slightest. For instance, there was the Boat Drive-Inn that we planned to build by Bolt Castle, which would be fully equipped with moorings and a floating snack bar; or the chicken wings and margarita bar we planned to open near Clayton, NY, that is only accessible by boat and would be named Wing-Arita.

These are just some of our crew's brilliant ideas to ‘strike it rich’ that have been conceived around a summer night's fire. Although these fun ideas are just that—fun ideas that will most likely not fill our wallets—the fond memories of our crew's laughter will most certainly fill our hearts and this made me want to share a drink recipe that compliments your next summer night's fire.

Cheers!
