Now is the Time for New Boat Beds and Linens

Having a boat or yacht on the Great Lakes has always been special. Many people have especially appreciated their marine craft this summer. With people working remotely, social distancing with family, and having many summer venues closed, our boats and yachts have been a welcome haven. As this season winds down, this is the perfect time to consider what work or projects you would like to happen during the off season. While you're still enjoying the remaining time on your boat, start making that list. Some projects may be mechanical or structural. Maybe you’ve been considering IT and technical upgrades.
It's also the time to consider how you can be more comfortable living on your boat.
Is your boat bed comfortable? Do you need sheets that fit? Are your linens and bedding inherited from the previous owners? Does your bedding look dated or, even worse, does it look like something from a college dorm? What can you do this winter to be ready for summer 2021?

Most items are custom made just for you. Mattresses, linens, and bedding ensembles all require templates. People often ask if we have a template for their boat bed. We don’t. We need to get on your boat to make the patterns and this service makes us unique. We are pleased to be The Handcraft Mattress Company's dealer for our region. For over 30 years, they have been the premier mattress manufacturer for the marine environment. A variety of mattress pads and fine linens are available.
Our studio showroom is located in Mentor, Ohio, though Laura, Freshwater Gills’ owner, boats out of Catawba Island. We encourage people to make an appointment to come to our showroom. There, you can try out the different mattresses, and touch and see the fabrics and pillows. If that isn’t possible, other arrangements can be made.
