At Eldean Shipyard, we have started construction of a new, steel 12,000 square foot heated storage building! It is scheduled for completion in September and will be ready for boat storage for this winter. In total, we will have over 185,000 square feet of inside heated storage, on site, at the Macatawa, Michigan, marina facility. Outside storage is also available.
This new steel storage building is a replacement of a section of an older wood storage building. Without the need for wood trusses to hold up the roof, the new steel building will have much more room inside for taller boats and also allow headroom for working on the decks or cabin tops.
CL Construction of Holland, Michigan, is erecting the building. “CL” stands for Carl Lamar, and the Lamar Family has built all of our boat storage buildings, including this original wood building that dates back to 1958. The Lamar family are also active boaters and fishermen and have been boating out of the Eldean marina for nearly as long as anyone there can remember (and probably longer).
