Marine News from the Great Lakes

Memories Made Here!

Our Trent Port Marina (TPM) crew is slowly coming down from the rush brought on by exhibiting at the Toronto International Boat Show (TIBS) over a 10-day stint in late January.

“It creates such an amazing feeling when we hear how many people are impressed with our facility and staff, and are excited about visiting Trent Port Marina in the City of Quinte West,” reported Andrew Belej, the new Assistant Manager who attended the show as an exhibitor for the first time this year. From an exhibitor point of view, the show is long but well worth the reward of reassurance that you’re a part of something great - making an impact on those who choose boating as their summer pastime.

Heading into Trent Port’s fourth full season, our staff was pleased to hear from people who have already visited; those who now make TPM an annual stop; and those who have heard the buzz from fellow boaters and have put us on their itinerary for the coming boating season!

When promoting our facility, the crew is always quick to point out our five star amenities - especially to female boaters, as we hear from them that the high-end, private washroom pods are a definite highlight of their stay and a reason to return! Visitors to the Marina are very complimentary about this feature that is hard to come by on the Great Lakes, up the Trent-Severn and, some even say, around the entire Great Loop. What we heard at the show this year was music to our ears when many reported that “Because of your bathrooms, our home port got a makeover” or, “We took photos of your bathrooms back to our home port and they’ve since upgraded our facilities.”

Although we know that marinas competing for your boating business continue to make improvements to facilities and amenities, and we need to be mindful of our market share, we love to use the aphorism that “a rising tide lifts all boats.” In creating a great facility and in offering exemplary customer service and first class amenities, we raise the bar for others to follow, creating a more pleasurable experience for all boaters on the water! Andrew’s take away from the show was the importance of not resting on your laurels, maintaining a beautiful facility, and placing priority on continually improving our offerings at TPM. We’re excited as we head into a new boating season for summer 2019 and all of the possibilities that the new season brings with it. One boating family that had visited our marina and stopped by our booth at the show provided us with our favourite quote from TIBS 2019: "Most marinas, we enjoy; but yours, we remembered!”

We can’t wait to host you at TPM this summer. For more information, visit us at
