Fall for the Foliage in Lake Erie
Marblehead/Catawba Island area of Lake Erie just ranked #4 in the country for fall foliage boating.

The Marblehead and Catawba Island area of Lake Erie just landed at #4 in a new national ranking of the best lakes for watching fall foliage from the water, ahead of nearly every lake in New England.
BoatBooker built the ranking by scoring lakes nationwide on how good they actually are for a fall foliage boat trip: how much public boat-ramp access is nearby, whether the leaves are actually turning at the right time (confirmed by satellite data, not a guess), and how easy the lake is to reach. This part of Lake Erie came out with 72 public boat ramps within 20 miles and a foliage peak that lands mid-October, right in the sweet spot of the season, and it's about a 49-minute drive from Toledo.

Methodology
BoatBooker scored 16 finalist lakes nationwide across four weighted categories: Boat Access (U.S. Geological Survey public boat-ramp data within a 20-mile radius), City Proximity (Census Bureau population data and drive-time routing), Foliage Timing Fit (satellite-derived autumn vegetation data from the USA National Phenology Network), and Recognizability (independently published lake-awareness data). Every lake had to have a satellite-confirmed foliage peak within Sept 15–Nov 15 to even qualify.
