Published: Friday, January 26, 2018

Wave Pointe Marina & Resort is nestled in a quiet, hidden area of southern Door County, Wis. Established in 2000, Wave Pointe has become a favorite destination location for locals and visitors alike.

The weather-safe harbor contains a 124 slip marina and a full-service fuel island. Additionally, Wave Pointe offers boaters a substantial amount of amenities inside of the resort including a boater’s lounge, free laundry with front loading washers and dryers, large bathrooms, showers and dressing areas, and indoor hot tub and sauna - all with a private entrance. Guests also have full access to the resort’s outdoor heated pool and Tiki Bar. Throughout the marina, boaters will find grills, picnic tables, and a fire pit patio. Transient slips are available for those who wish to drop anchor and spend the day, weekend, a week, or more.

While you’re at Wave Pointe, feel free to dine in at the full service restaurant, Gilmo’s Bar & Bistro, which is open year-round with happy hour Monday-Friday from 3pm–5pm. From May-October, boaters can dine inside or out on the patio where a beverage from the Tiki Bar can be enjoyed while listening to live entertainment on the weekends. Docking is always free if the visit is just for lunch or dinner.

Take advantage of the Boat House Rental & Gift Shop during your visit. The Boat House offers pontoon, kayak, and paddleboard rentals. Before heading out onto the water, order a blended iced coffee, made with coffee from Door County Coffee, or enjoy a cool fruit smoothie or ice cream.

If sleeping on a boat is not an option, Wave Pointe has a spacious 24 suite resort for a comfortable night’s stay on land. The suites range from 210 square feet to over 900 square feet, all facing the harbor. Each suite has a Whirlpool tub, full kitchen or kitchenette, and king or queen size bed.
