Drop Anchor in Orleans County, NY, on Lake Ontario

Widely known in the fishing community as “the Oak,” Orleans County offers a pleasant destination for the cruising sailor or power boater on the Oak Orchard River, as well as anglers searching for trophy-sized salmon. Located midway between Niagara Falls and Rochester, NY, the harbor is protected by two parallel jetties and a break wall. Standing on the east bank to welcome mariners is a replica of the Oak Orchard Lighthouse that was swept away by a winter storm in 1916. The tree-lined gorge, carved by the Oak Orchard River, provides a scenic backdrop for a full-service port featuring over 40 professional fishing charter services, yacht clubs, parks, marine sales and repairs, fuel, pump-out stations, restaurants, and lodging. The Oak is also served by two public boat launches.

Marinas in Orleans County:

Ernst’s Lake Breeze Marina, a full-service marina with lodging and a seasonal dockside café.
Captain’s Cove Motel & Marina includes floating docks, efficiency rooms, bait & tackle shop and boat rentals.
Wiley’s Riverside Marina offers a tranquil, natural setting complete with a party dock, mechanical services, and supply lift.
Orleans County Marine Park includes the marine patrol station, INS station, playground, floating docks, fish cleaning station, and hosts a weekly concert series in the summer. The Point Breeze Yacht Club docks here.
The Oak Orchard Yacht Club, a member of LOCCA, includes docks, a bar/restaurant, pickleball courts, a sailing camp, reciprocal docking privileges, and hosts sailboat races in the summer.
Bald Eagle Marina provides full services, including easy access to Lake Ontario, a bar/restaurant, and lodging.
Green Harbor Campground and Marina has 450’ of sandy beach, boat docks, launch, and amenities.

The historical Erie Canal travels through Orleans County, offering three village ports with docking, services, and easy access to shopping, restaurants, and more.
