DESTINATION: Welcome to the Silver Bay Marina
Published: Sunday, July 12, 2020
Celebrating its 20th year in 2020, Silver Bay Marina is the premiere boating destination on the North Shore of Lake Superior. The first thing you notice when you pull into the harbor is the tranquil beauty, and the many hands willing to grab a line as you come in. You won’t find a friendlier harbor on the North Shore, or a prettier one. We provide a public launch with service and haul out available as well.
Open May 15-Oct 15 and with 108 slips available for daily, weekly, monthly or full season rental, Silver Bay Marina makes for your perfect Lake Superior getaway location. With seasonal rates of $44 per ft to daily rates of $1.25 per ft, you can call (218) 226-3121 or email [email protected] for available rates or to book a slip, or visit www.silverbay-marina.com for all rates and information. If you are close, you can call over the radio on channel 16 and their friendly and knowledgeable staff will meet you at the dock! This is a pet friendly location with amenities including dock boxes, shower rooms, gas, pump outs, and power/water at each slip. Their deck is the perfect place to catch the sunrise or grill your latest catch.
Location, Location, Location
A diver’s delight, a fisherman’s haven, and a kayaker’s dream, the north shore has shipwrecks, sea caves, and towering cliffs to admire from the water and world class lake trout and salmon to have for dinner—if you can catch it! With clear blue water and views as far as the eye can see, there is no place better to unwind.
If you are looking for beautiful vistas and incredible hikes, Silver Bay Marina is the perfect jumping off point for an adventure! The North Shore is a photographer’s dream with historic Split Rock Lighthouse State Park seven miles southwest and only six miles to the northeast will find the stunning Tettegouche State Park. Easy access to the Superior Hiking Trail is just three miles away. The majestic Gooseberry Falls is 12 miles to the southwest—the most visited state park in Minnesota!
Silver Bay has so much to offer! The marina sits inside Bayside Park with picnic pavilions, fire pits, and walking paths right to the beach. Black Beach is a favorite local spot and the campground will be open this season. Silver Bay Golf Course is just a few minutes away and will give you nine holes of relaxation time. If you are looking for more to do, the North Shore Adventure Park will give you and the family something to remember with over 60 different obstacles to enjoy.
Eats and Sweets
Food is close at hand when you need to fill up. Jimmy’s Pizza of Silver Bay will deliver lunch or dinner right to your boat from a menu that includes calzones, pasta, and salads. Camp 61 and their famous BBQ are a short drive away in Beaver Bay and, if you are in the mood for an award winning burger, Northwoods Family Grille has got you covered. The Big Dipper Ice Cream Shoppe will serve up a cone, sundae, or a really great cup of coffee seven days a week.
