Cedar Point Is A Place Like No Other

Published: Friday, April 24, 2020

The Cedar Point Marina has come to be known as one of the finest marinas on Lake Erie. Offering everything you would expect from a full service boating facility, the marina now features 742 slips with 129 transient docks within walking distance of Cedar Point, A Place Like No Other®. However, before there were roller coasters, midway games, funnel cakes, and fresh-cut fries, Cedar Point was a simple bathing beach, bathhouse, and beer garden. Back then, the Cedar Point Marina played a crucial role as the “Boeckling” steamship would ferry eager guests across Sandusky Bay to do one thing: spend time together. Although it’s no longer the only means to get to Cedar Point, the Marina still welcomes thousands of guests every season.

As the years went on and more rides, shows, and experiences were added to the collection, the general concept remained the same. Cedar Point is still the place where people go to take a break from reality and create moments and memories like no other.

And the time to visit Cedar Point is now! As the Marina celebrates its 61st anniversary and the park celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2020, there’s so much to see and do with new attractions, dining options, spectacular entertainment, and the same summertime family fun that Cedar Point has been providing since 1870.

In 2020, Cedar Point will be adding a collection of new experiences that guests old and new alike will love. These include a new nighttime spectacular parade, a river adventure ride for the whole family, new and exciting dining locations, French Quarter Confections & The Corral, a completely re-imagined Town Hall experience, and more.

A growing park fueled a growing attendance and a growing marina to accommodate guests. Today, the Cedar Point Marina offers state of the art features such as a floating, gated pier system, restrooms and bathhouses, fuel docks, and guest laundry facilities. With added park benefits like Cedar Fair Platinum Passes, 1-hour Early Entry, and discounted admission tickets for guests, the Cedar Point Marina has become the perfect way to experience summer fun on Lake Erie.

If the proximity to and benefits for Cedar Point weren’t enough, the Cedar Point Marina also offers a collection of top-notch amenities to keep mariners comfortable, entertained, and well-fed all season long. Amenities include beach access, swimming pool, shuttle service throughout the Cedar Point Peninsula, convenient shopping, and two delicious restaurants right on site.

Bay Harbor is an elegant waterfront restaurant that serves the freshest seafood dishes as well as delicious prime cuts and lighter fare for all appetites. The restaurant features a lounge with a full service bar and extensive wine selection, outdoor seating, and live entertainment.

Just a short walk away is Famous Dave’s. Serving up fantastic St. Louis style BBQ and made-from-scratch sides, this restaurant has been a fan favorite for years. This restaurant offers a full service bar, outdoor seating, and a takeout menu. Convenient short term dockage is available for patrons of both Marina restaurants.

Whether you’re looking for a unique way to commute to Cedar Point or you’re looking for a one-of-a kind location to dock your boat overnight or for the summer, the Cedar Point Marina would be honored to host you as you celebrate Cedar Point’s 150th Anniversary.

The Fun is Just Beginning.
