One rainy day at the 2016 Novi Boat Show changed everything. At the time, Chuck Wegmann, dba Advanced Boatworks, was a dealership and manufacturer representative selling boats at boat shows around the country. This day, multiple customers were approaching the boats but, rather than having interest in the model, they were approaching with increasing interest in the high-end non-skid decking they saw. Chuck found himself showing and explaining what the product was, which, you guessed it, was SeaDek that had been custom designed to increase the value and beauty of the finest new models.
After experiencing several weeks of explaining what SeaDek was on different show floors, Chuck realized that there was a market for the end user. He contacted SeaDek to start the process of becoming a SeaDek Authorized Distributor and SeaDek Certified Installer. The rest is history!
He and his wife, Bridgette, made the commitment to make sure that SeaDek, the original authentic PE/EVA foam flooring, was everything the company claimed it to be. Bridgette did her own testing by spilling everything she could think of onto the material to make sure it was truly stain resistant. SeaDek’s claims were verified by BBQ sauce, red wine, and mustard sitting on the material in the sun for two weeks. Simple household cleaners removed everything she threw at it. The decision was made; after attending SeaDek training in Rockledge, Florida, the course was set.
Today, Chuck and Bridgette approach every project with great respect for the customer’s boat and design requests. They work together to digitize each project and see it through to installation. “Our customers become our friends. We love what we do!” says Bridgette of the interactive process.
“SeaDek is all we do and so we believe we’re the best at it,” says Chuck. “Being owner-operated allows us great control over the process—and over our ability to ensure great customer service.”
