8th Annual Kids Fish FREE returns to North Coast Harbor July 26

Cleveland, OH — The On the Water Ohio Kids Fish FREE at Voinovich Park in North Coast Harbor is back! Kids can reel in some fun Tuesday July 26th from 11:00AM – 2:00PM with the newly formed non-profit, On the Water Ohio,  in conjunction with the City of Cleveland and Downtown Cleveland Alliance. 

Fishing is open to all kids 16 and under and the first 200 kids receive a FREE youth combo fishing rod! Fishing rods, life vests and bait can be obtained at the gear tent located in Voinovich Bicentennial Park.  Prior to casting the first line kids will be required to listen to a brief water and fishing safety presentation from our local safety partners. All youth attendees must have an adult/parent or guardian sign the waiver release form to participate. 

During the hours of the event, two (2) designated fishing zones will be open; Voinovich Park and the north end of the E9th Street Pier. Awards will be given for the biggest and smallest fish caught every hour.  Face painting and yard games will be available.  The infamous DR. U R Awesome will mesmerize the kiddos with bubblepalooza from 1:00PM- 2:00PM.  DJ Shake will be keeping the fun going with hula hoop contests throughout the day. Attendees can also take a spin around the inner harbor in a free pedal boat ride, thanks to our supporting host Oasis Marina. Pedalers 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult and all pedalers must wear life vests (provided). FREE pedal boat rides last a maximum of 10 minutes per group (3 per boat) for the duration of the event 11AM-2PM.  Sign up & waiver release forms will be located at the Oasis Marina dock entrance.   

Hungry? Cleveland Police Foundation will be grilling FREE hot dogs for event attendees, while supplies last. The non-hotdog lovers have the option to purchase food from a local food (cash & credit card accepted).  

On the Water Ohio Kids Fish Free event is possible thanks to the help of our friends; Lake Erie Marine Trade Association, Lake Erie Walleye Trail, Pier 53 Marina, Clemons Boats, Buckeye Sports Center, South Shore Marine, The S.S. Mack Family Foundation, Amanda Sines, City of Cleveland, Downtown Cleveland Alliance, Cleveland Police Foundation, Ohio Department of Natural Resources (Cleveland), Prime Time Junior Bass Anglers, Argonaut (formally Phastar) and Oasis Marinas.
