13th Annual Midwest Women’s Sailing Conference Announces Nikki Barnes as Keynote Speaker

Milwaukee, WI – Registration is now open for the 13th annual Midwest Women’s Sailing Conference. The Conference welcomes women and gender non-binary sailors of all skill levels and sailing interests to the Milwaukee Community Sailing Center on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
The event features a keynote by Olympic sailor Nikole “Nikki” Barnes. Barnes was the first active duty Coast Guard member to compete in the Olympics. She has received multiple awards including Quantum Women’s Sailor of the Year. Her presentation, titled “Chasing Your Dreams,” will focus on the lessons she learned from that experience.
Conference programming includes 20 educational sessions and discussions, including: basic and advanced sailing skills; racing-focused options; cruising; maintenance; first aid; communication; and more. Interactive sessions allow attendees to learn from each other as well as expert instructors. Pre- and post-conference events provide additional time for networking and community building.
Registration cost is $145 through February 6th and then $165 per person. Attendees under 30 can take advantage of a discounted price of $95, and financial assistance is available for anyone who reaches out. Early registration is encouraged as space is limited.
