Marine News from the Great Lakes

Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin

Come for the Fun, Stay for the Memories

Published: Friday, August 18, 2017

Whether it’s for an afternoon, a weekend, or a week or more, Sturgeon Bay offers a wealth of activities to keep any visitor delighted with their choice of destination.

Dock your boat at one of the local marinas such as CenterPointe Marina, located along the waters of Sturgeon Bay's east side. This marina can accommodate vessels as small as 30' and as large as 210'. Enjoy full use of the marina amenities while there including clubhouse bathrooms/showers, indoor/outdoor pools, grilling stations, and an outdoor fireplace.

While in Sturgeon Bay, take a cruise on The Chicago Fireboat (www.ridethefireboat.com). Originally designed as a City of Chicago Fireboat, the Fred A. Busse was built in Bay City, Michigan, in 1937 and is similar to two other firefighting vessels, the Victor Schlaeger and the Joseph Medill, constructed in Sturgeon Bay shortly after World War II. Whether you want to start your day with a morning cruise or enjoy time with friends and family while taking in all the beautiful sites, the Chicago Fireboat is available for daily adventures. Or, if you want a truly breathtaking way to end the day, consider a little romance and enjoy a nice cocktail during one of their Friday or Saturday night Sunset/Cocktail Cruises.
