Port Washington, Wisconsin, your destination marina on the western shores of Lake Michigan! Stay, eat, and play! This is a quaint little town with a whole lot to see and do, including over 20 bars and restaurants all within walking distance of the marina. Many gift, clothing, and candy shops are nearby, as well as museums to pique your interest. With bike paths, parks, beaches, and nature preserves located along the lakefront, there is something for everyone here in Port Washington!
Port Washington Marina is a Certified Wisconsin Clean Marina with friendly staff available to assist you seven days a week. Reservations for overnight guests can be done through Dockwa, an online booking service, which can be accessed by visiting the website at www.port-washingtonmarina.com. Annual reservations begin on January 1, and you are strongly encouraged to make reservations in advance as weekends book up fast.
Vessels up to 100 feet in length and up to a 10-foot draft can be accepted inside the main marina, whereas the outer harbor, along Coal Dock Park and Rotary Park, can accept much larger vessels up to a 25-foot draft. Individual boats as well as large groups are welcome, and free courtesy dockage for up to three hours is available. However, please contact them immediately upon arrival so that you can be directed on where best to go for this option. When arriving by water, you can hail on channel 9 on your marine radio or contact the marina office at 262-284-6606.
A certified ValvTect Marine gasoline and diesel fuel location, the Port Washington Marina boasts many amenities, including dockside pump outs in the main marina and on the fuel pier. A picnic area is available with both gas and charcoal grills and a fire pit. You’ll also find a six-lane concrete launch ramp, fish cleaning station, and several public restrooms around the property. Since the marina provides private restrooms with laundry facilities and a lounge, guests are being asked to follow the CDC’s guidelines for social distancing. Currently, only 2-3 people are allowed in the restrooms at a time. Thank you, everyone, for your cooperation during this time!
The City of Port Washington has events, celebrations, and festivals galore! Sadly, this year many of those events have been or are in jeopardy of being canceled, but whether or not they end up moving forward in 2020, you will have to check back in 2021! The Pirate Festival, Fish Day—the World’s Largest One Day Outdoor Fish Fry, Beer Gardens, Fish Derbies, Main Street festivals, or any of the many other celebrations are well worth the visit.
Following the recent shutdowns, it’s wonderful to report that all restaurants and bars are now either open to the public or offering take out. From Italian to Greek to Mexican or Chinese, Farm to Table or classic American cuisine, Port Washington has it all! The gift shops have started reopening, and all parks, beaches, nature preserves, and bike paths are available to get out if you’d like to do some exploring.
If fishing is more your thing, you’ll find one of the largest charter boat fleets in the area here. These experienced captains are eager to get you out on beautiful Lake Michigan to start your fishing adventure. Enjoy the thrill of catching your first coho or king salmon or enjoy the fierce fight of a rainbow trout! With more than 30 boats to choose from, you can certainly get your fish on!
Port Washington is the perfect choice for some fun in the sun or to just sit back and relax. Welcome aboard, they are happy to have you!
