Nestled on the shores of Lake Michigan in the northeast corner of Illinois, Winthrop
Harbor is a Village rich
in history and opportunity. Here you will find a family-friendly Village with
beautiful parks and recreational facilities, Lake Michigan
access and so much more!
Winthrop Harbor is proud to be home to North Point Marina, the flagship in second-to-none lakefront recreational offerings include a free boat launch, public beaches and fishing pier as well as a large charter fishing fleet. Quiet, serene and safe, North Point Marina offers the relaxation you expect and the nurturing you need in a natural and lush recreational setting.
A world class
marina and a world class value to you, North Point has convenient on-site
amenities such as boat maintenance and repair, fuel, dry winter storage,
transient slips, Great Room, ship's store and restaurant. In a
protected
floating dock system of 1,500 slips, from 30 to 60 feet, the "one
price" slip rental includes electricity, water, TV hookup, Free WiFi,
sanitary pump-outs, dock lockers, showers and restrooms, restricted parking and
24-hour security, all at no extra charges.
North Point Marina is more than just a marina, it is a water front center that includes a wide variety of services for boaters and non-boaters alike; sand volley ball courts, hiking and bicycle trails, a handicap accessible fishing pier, fish cleaning station, two public beaches and a free ten lane public launch ramp. Many other family friendly amenities are also available throughout the complex such as playgrounds, plenty of picnic tables and grills as well as fire pits that can be reserved only a few feet from Lake Michigan.
The largest marina
on the Great Lakes is on Lake Michigan midway between Chicago
and Milwaukee. Visit
www.npmonline.com for more information.
Visiting Winthrop Harbor will also give you direct access to Illinois Beach State Park. This 4,500 acre park is the most visited state park in Illinois and includes plenty of opportunity for hiking, biking, camping or just relaxing on the plentiful sand dunes.
And getting here is a breeze…take Interstate 94 north, or south, to the
state line and then head about 6 miles east to the lake. You can also use the
Metra Train Service from Chicago
in under an hour with a stop on 7th
Street, less than ½ a mile from the
marina. Waukegan
Regional airport is less than 6 miles away, or just ride the breeze and sail in
to use one of the available transient slips.
Come for the Boating, but stay for the Hospitality…
