“Time to Buy” Boat show Cruises Into Novi This Week
Published: Monday, March 9, 2020
The Progressive Novi Boat Show cruises into the Suburban Collection Showplace March 12-15 with exhibitors lining the showplace wall-to-wall with hundreds of boats to see and purchase along with accessories, entertainment and fun! Just days away from the beginning of spring, this is the last boat show of the season in Metro Detroit and the last chance for boat shoppers to purchase their vessel in time for spring launch.
Michigan is the third largest marine market in the country, with nearly half of Michigan’s residents taking to the water for boating and fishing each year. According to the MI Secretary of State, there are nearly one million boats registered in the state. Retail expenditures for new boat, motor, trailer and accessory sales exceeded $1 billion in 2018, according to the National Marine Manufacturers Association.
“It’s no secret that boating is a favorite past time for Michiganders,” said MBIA Executive Director and Show Manager Nicki Polan. “The Progressive Novi Boat Show is a great shopping opportunity for those in the market for a new boat as well as those eager to see ‘what’s new’ and shop for new gear and accessories for the upcoming boating season.”
More than just a boat show - features, activities, and giveaways make the event fun for the whole family. Back for a second year, The Harborside Market inside the boat show features high-end shopping for lake enthusiasts with giveaways each day, including a chic tote bag, wine tote, pet water bottle, and sunglass strap to show goers while supplies last. The first 25 crafters at the Paint A Paddle Workshop each day receive a free paddle to create a custom nautical decoration.
The Kids Zone, open on Saturday and Sunday, features a live mermaid princess, an interactive sand craft, Pirates, Captains, and Sailors, Oh My! Exhibit, boating and fishing simulators and more. The Broadcast Center will host Street Teams from favorite local radio stations, bringing games and contests with great prizes!
