Sport Craft is one of the most popular boats on the Great Lakes, and now after 52 years in production, Perry Boat Works is now offering the highest quality Sport Craft Boats ever built. Perry Boat Works recently purchased the Sport Craft manufacturing facility in Perry, Florida, and manufacturing upgrades are already underway.

With 40 acres and 160,000 square feet of manufacturing facilities, Sport Craft is now being hand crafted by the Perry Boat WorksCompany. No stranger to building quality boats, Perry Boat Works has more than twenty years of experience in boat manufacturing, building boats for Strike Yachts, Canyon Bay Boats, Outcast 24 and Oyster Bay Boats. They are certainly well known for the companies they keep.

The Strike Yacht boat line is a high quality sport fishing boat manufactured in Florida, however you will see them throughout the USA, Europe and South America. The Strike boat line began with its single diesel inboard Strike 26 and now offers ten models up to their 46 Express. Many Strikes are shipped to Costa Rica and Panama and used in charter businesses and lodges.

The Sport Craft boat line consists of sport fishing boats ranging from 24 ft to 30 ft and includes Walk Around, Center Console and Express deck styles.

With Perry Boat Works management at the helm, many changes to the construction of the Sport Craft boat line begins where boat owner's rarely see, like replacing the wood coring and wood stringers with "rot free" urethane composites. All fiberglass is complimented with the highest quality gel coats and resins with yacht quality fit and finish. Upgrades you can see include top quality stainless steel components, and the bi-product of a Quality One manufacturing process that ensures the engine, bilge, battery, pumps, and all inboard access are functional and secure, giving the end user years of worry free structural integrity.

"We are committed to building a superior product," states Kenny Willmer, direct from Perry Boat Works. "We're initiating major changes for all 2011 Sport Craft models being built right now."

Because of Willmer's belief that glassed core will outperform wood over the life of a boat, all decks are now built with ¾ Nida Core. Hullstringers are all fiberglass with bulkheads being ¾ Nida Core as well. To build this way is giving the owner superior strength and longer life of the vessel. Sport Crafts have never been built this way, and Willmer knows it's better.

The Vinyl Ester Resin skin coat for blister resistant hulls has also been upgraded, as well as the use of high-quality gel coats, resins and glass materials. Below deck upgrades include heavy-duty 1250 GPH bilge pumps, and the corresponding upgraded heavy-duty bilge pump hose.

Hard to see, but easy to appreciate by serious fishermen, are the redesigned scupper recesses in the deck, ensuring quicker drainage on Express models. The same holds true for the new rudder system design with heavy-duty bronze cast struts for improved and responsive steering and handling.

Thoughtful amenities like new longer lasting LED lighting will brighten your night-time fishing trips, and the redesigned motor box, resulting in a wider walk-through on Express models, offers the captain and crew quicker and more secure movements while fishing.

Foul weather? No worries! You are protected by a three-sided windshield and fiberglass hardtop, plus anupgraded heavy-duty wiper motor with panoramic arm is now standard for betterwindshield coverage on Express models.

To ensure the highest level of quality control, thorough in-water sea trials are performed in which speed, mechanical functions and all electrical components are assessed and complement the "Hands On" Quality Control checks and re-checks during the building process.

New and improved models have already arrived. Perry Boat Works has recently shipped several 272 Express models to Lake of the Woods Marina in Minnesota, and there are more on the way.
