Safety Video Highlights Changes for the 61st Annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show: Know Before You Go

Informative Video Highlights What to Expect at the 2020 Show as FLIBS Returns this October with Enhanced Health & Safety Measures

Published: Monday, September 7, 2020

Owned by the Marine Industries of South Florida and produced by Informa Markets, FLIBS, the largest in-water boat show on the seven seas, with over 80% of the show taking place in open-air outdoor spaces, will return to the Yachting Capital of the World from October 28 through November 1 with enhanced health and safety measures in place designed to create an exceptional visitor experience that prioritizes the safety of all attendees, exhibitors, crew members, and staff.

These changes are being implemented as a result of Informa’s newly adopted AllSecure health and safety standards and in coordination with the CDC, local government, and authorities. The AllSecure standards, which were introduced earlier this year, are organized into four key areas: Physical Distancing; Cleaning and Hygiene Countermeasures; Protection and Detection; and Communication.

Some of the major changes visitors can expect, which are further outlined in their “Know Before You Go” video, include 14 different entrances to the show (with temperature checks at every entry point), contactless ticketing, widened docks, hygiene stations, and the requirement to wear face coverings - among other safety considerations. Enhanced deep cleaning with disinfection will take place each hour on all high touch points during show operating hours and all show areas will be deep cleaned overnight.

Recognized as the pinnacle of all nautical exhibitions, FLIBS features over 1,300 boats on display and nearly 900 exhibitors spanning seven waterfront locations and over 3.9 million square feet of exhibition space across more than 90 acres. The five-day, outdoor show also showcases more world and U.S. debuts than any other boat show in the country and generates a total statewide economic impact of $1.3 billion and over $714 million in product sold. Tickets to the 2020 show will go on sale beginning Labor Day, September 7.
