Rossford, Ohio Hosts 2nd Annual Fishing Tournament

Registration is now open for the 2018 Rossford Walleye Roundup. The fishing tournament, sponsored by Bass Pro and the Rossford Convention and Visitors Bureau, will take place April 20-21, 2018. The event, which is expected to draw fishermen and their families from all over the Midwest, is being planned by the City of Rossford, the Rossford Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Bass Pro Shops, the presenting sponsor. The Bass Pro Shops Rossford Roundup is open to all 2-person teams. Payouts are based on the number of entries.

Tournament hours will be 7:30 a.m.–4 p.m. each day. Michigan and Ohio waters of Lake Erie are open for tournament fishing. No Canadian waters are permitted. The two-day event will be headquartered at the Rossford Marina with activities, food trucks, final weigh-in, and awards at Bass Pro in Rossford.

Entry fee is $500 per team. Teams will consist of 2 anglers and this year’s tournament will be limited to 40 teams.

Teams that register and and pay for the 2018 Tournament by January 31, 2018 will receive these bonuses from Bass Pro Shops:

Area Rossford hotels have planned special room rates for fisherman beginning with opening night on Thursday, April 19th and continuing through check-out on Sunday, April 22nd.

A special reception will be held on Friday evening by the host hotel, the Hampton Inn & Suites — and Saturday night will feature a special closing event.

The Rossford CVB will distribute the walleye catches to area nonprofits from teams that choose to donate their catches.
