Saugatuck Douglas Area Convention & Visitors Bureau website highlights the unique character and magic of visiting the "Art Coast of Michigan"
Exploring the Saugatuck, Michigan, region just got a lot easier as the Saugatuck Douglas Area Convention & Visitors Bureau launched its newly re-designed official website, www.saugatuck.com.
Known as the Art Coast of Michigan the Saugatuck region has been one the most popular resort and vacation destinations in the United States for more than 100 years. The new website greets visitors with vivid imagery and engaging features encouraging them to explore all there is to see and do in the area.
"We wanted to create a website that reflected the unique magic of our community and the region," said Josh Albrecht, SDACVB Executive Director. "When you visit Saugatuck, you will find yourself not wanting to leave."
To help visitors plan their experience, the new website was developed to be fully responsive across all electronic platforms and devices, with it being optimized for mobile and tablet users. In addition, an updated Calendar of Events listing allows visitors to easily search by date, type of event and city.
"For generations, travelers have been coming to Saugatuck, Douglas and Fennville for a wide variety of activities - live music, art galleries, theatre, boating, fishing, wineries, orchards, shopping and much more," said Albrecht. "Part of the fun of going on vacation is the planning experience and we want our visitors to have fun exploring our region before they even get in the car."
Visitors also will find enhanced directory pages for the perfect place to stay while visiting the region. Saugatuck is known for its luxury B&Bs, family-friendly vacation rental homes, resorts and convenient hotels and motels.
"Without a doubt, we have some of the best lodging accommodations for our visitors," said Albrecht. "Each of our listings showcases the overflowing amenities and options available for travelers."
Over the past year, the SDACVB has continued to receive accolades as a premier vacation destination, most recently being named to Coastal Living's "20 Best Places to Live on the Coast in 2018." (https://www.coastalliving.com/travel/top-10/best-places-to-live-2018)
"Saugatuck has built a reputation as being a destination worthy of distinction," said Albrecht. "We knew we had to create a website that reflected the energy that inspires so many to write about and feature our great community."
In addition to the recent Coastal Living article, several other media outlets have featured the region during the past few months, including:
