Raymarine: Focus On Functionality
Axiom Displays Now Support Rich Graphical CZone Control Interfaces
Published: Tuesday, May 26, 2020
Raymarine’s family of Axiom Multifunction Displays offers an ever-expanding array of unique capabilities and technologies that make spending time on the Great Lakes safer, more rewarding, and a whole lot more fun. These valuable capabilities give captains immediate access to information about their vessel and the environment around it. The powerful and intuitive LightHouse 3 operating system drives Axiom’s remarkable functionality and expandability. Regular, free software updates mean Great Lakes fishermen, cruisers, and first-responders have access to new tools in their LightHouse 3-powered Axiom, eS and gS Series MFDs every few months. Complete integration with CZone Digital Switching systems is one of these latest tools.
CZone digital switching allows for the removal of toggle and push-button switches and facilitates control of vessel-wide electrical systems from a central, intuitive display. The CZone digital control and monitoring network simplifies installation of electrical systems through the replacement of complicated, cumbersome wiring to switch and fuse panels, with state-of-the-art, robust interfaces and light NMEA 2000 network cable. It also provides a sophisticated solution via the automation of complex electrical systems and achieves wireless control via mobile devices or a dedicated keyfob remote.
CZone offers a comprehensive view of a boat’s entire electrical system, including complete control and monitoring capabilities. With advanced monitoring and trigger functionality, CZone can not only alert captains to a potential problem in their system but can also resolve the problem automatically.
The LightHouse 3 (V3.8 and later) operating system allows users to exercise complete control and monitoring of their boat’s electrical systems directly from their LightHouse 3-powered Raymarine Axiom, eS or gS Series multifunction displays.
The LightHouse 3 Dashboard app allows system integrators to import CZone system configuration files, as well as rich graphical control pages into the app. Control pages can be easily constructed and programmed using the new CZone Graphics tool. Custom, multi-page controls can be tailored to the vessel, or pages can be built from a library of standardized switches and data cells.
“Today’s boaters expect easy operation, with levels of technology and automation equal to or better than what they have in their homes,” said Jarrod Sager, BEP Marine Business Leader. “Our CZone technology brings this high-level automation from smart homes to smart boats. By integrating with Raymarine Axiom, we’re able to offer our complete solution to an even broader array of high-end boat and yacht builders around the world.”
Raymarine’s partnership and integration with CZone means that Axiom and LightHouse 3-equipped eS and gS multifunction displays can now take care of even more “business” onboard… leaving more time for Great Lakes boaters to focus on the activities they love.
