Recognized for its technical advancement, Webasto Thermo & Comfort North America's new V50M chiller system won an Innovation Award at this year's International BoatBuilder's Exhibition and Conference (IBEX). Webasto won in the Mechanical Systems category.

The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) created the Innovation Awards program to recognize significant contributions to marine technology. The 19 winning products were selected from 90 entries by a panel of experienced technical boating journalists from Boating Writers International (BWI).

"We're very excited to have our latest product recognized for its innovation with this prestigious honor," said Dr. Rolf Haag, Webasto Thermo & Comfort North America president and CEO. "Our global team has worked hard to develop this unique, technologically advanced chiller system and it's great to have those efforts rewarded."

Webasto's V50M chiller system delivers smooth and silent operation with no electrical starting peak, resulting in cost savings. Temperatures on board remain stable because of continuous adaptation of the chiller output to cooling or heating demand. The system self-adjusts to ambient conditions, and high-pressure issues are greatly reduced because of the system's intelligent pressure control. It's the first green-friendly HVAC chiller system due to its managed low power drain versus managed output.

In addition, new software provides a prompted maintenance schedule, and features two levels of ECO mode, enabling operators to limit compressor speed and reduce electrical consumption. The award-winning chiller system also offers a built-in BlueCool Expert Tool that allows for system configuration both locally and remotely with a computer, USB cable and Wi-Fi signal.
