Customized Hard Tops Add Function & Beauty

Published: Wednesday, January 27, 2016

Hard to Top boat hardtops are truly a revolutionary product. The unique combination of twinwall polycarbonate panels and custom engineered aluminum framing provide strength and ease of installation to make it the perfect answer to fabric biminis that fade and leak, and heavy fiberglass hard tops that add weight and windage to your boat. Hard to Top continues in its popularity and sales are ever on the rise. Boaters understand the need for an affordable product that they can install themselves with minimal effort and without breaking their wallets.

Hard to Top boat hardtops are custom made for each boat's specifications and are attached to the boat's existing bimini frame or other structures. The ultra-light polycarbonate sheets and aluminum framing add little weight to any vessel—an important consideration. Adding side curtains or panels is easy. Hard to Top provides a unique pre-measured Keder slide attachment that installs on the hardtop, making adding side curtains just as easy as installing the top.

Once the pieces arrive, cut to the owner’s specifications, one simply has to take them out of the shipping carton, assemble them on deck and attach with the included stainless fasteners. The average hardtop can be installed by a boating couple in one Saturday afternoon.

Need a better view aloft? No problem. Hard to Top can install a “Visibility panel” in the hardtop design to give the boater a clear view of sails and rigging. With the Hard to Top product, however, one notices how much light is allowed in through the translucent panels without compromising shade. Hard to Top can also work around ladder cut-outs for those step-access points to the flybridge. Any customization needed can be done, including hatches. Adding LED lighting is another simple feature that can be built in to these custom-made hardtops.

It is amazing how sturdy the Hard to Top hardtop is and how well it stands up to wind and sun. It will outlast a canvas bimini by many years and be much lighter than that heavy starboard or fiberglass hardtop. And more importantly, Hard to Top hardtops are attractive and enhance the appearance as well as add value to the vessel on which they are installed. Hard to Top hardtops are “Hard to Top” and made in the U.S.A.

Whether the vessel is a megayacht, family cruiser, or center-console fishing boat, Hard To Top is an inexpensive and attractive alternative.
