Family-friendly activities for all ages at this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show

With so much to experience, from super yachts, to submarines, to even yacht chef competitions, the annual The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) offers something for everyone, even your little ones. A family affair, this year’s show welcomes guests of all ages to navigate the joys of the nautical lifestyle, with a sea of family-friendly events and activities to experience.

For the little ones: Hook The Future

What: Hook The Future is hosting a fishing clinic open to kids ages 4-16 for an exciting combination of fishing education and entertainment. Led by speaker Captain Don Dingman, the first 50 kids to attend the clinic will get to take home a rod and reel. Hook The Future is free for all children who have purchased tickets to FLIBS.

When: Nov. 2, 2019 - 12pm & 2pm

For the foodies: 2nd Annual Sunset Soiree & Yacht Chef Competition

What: Partnering with the Pier Sixty-Six Hotel and the Superyacht Builders Association (SYBASS), FLIBS will host the 2nd Annual Sunset Soiree & Yacht Chef Competition in the center of the new Superyacht Village. The evening will offer guests an opportunity to taste the delicious cuisine created by four world-leading yacht chefs along with premium craft cocktails and tastings from luxury food purveyors. A panel of esteemed judges will sip and savor the epicurean delights, while making their selections. The evening will also entertain guests under the stars in Superyacht Village’s lavish oasis, which will feature music, entertainment and yacht-side fun.

Tickets to attend the competition are available on the FLIBS site.

When: Nov. 1, 2019 from 7:30 – 10:30pm

For the nautical toy aficionados: AquaZoneTM by Nautical Ventures


What: For the sixth year running, Nautical Ventures presents AquaZoneTM, a one-of-a-kind 30’x 60’, 40,000-gallon freshwater pool that features the latest and most innovative cutting-edge marine products including kayaks, SUPs, yacht toys, and more. A great place for show-goers to view products in action and see demoed by trained models and professional staff, AquaZoneTM is free to all guests with FLIBS tickets.

When: AquaZoneTM is open during boat show hours

Where: Located right outside of The Broward County Convention Center





For the ocean lovers: The Blue Wild Watersports and Marine Art Expo


What: The Blue Wild Watersports and Marine Art Expo consists of a series of captivating seminars that dive into a variety of topics including spearfishing, underwater photography, Florida sharks and more, along with presentations by TV and movie celebrity Manny Puig. Ocean lovers of all ages are welcome to learn about the deep blue sea. The seminars are open to all boat show guests.
