Galley Girl Cooks ~ Rowe Boat Chicken Wing Dip

Hello Fellow Boaters!!!
It’s getting exciting now… we just set our clocks ahead, temps are rising and the Robins are gracing the branches of our trees. It is almost here! Launch date for our Adventure! I’m starting my “to do list” to get all things ship shape. From launch to gliding into our slip for the first time, I’ll be ready with good eats! Are you ready for some boating? I know I am…. Bring it on!!
Funny how chores that are usually regarded as well… “Chores” are looked forward to when they are part of Spring
Launch. So with a spring in my step and a nautical song in my heart, I’m ready to get the galley scrubbed, stocked and ready to cook!
I thought this month I’d share a few of my galley greats to makes our spring cleanup a breeze. Starting off with Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Extra Power, love it! Fast, efficient, multitasks. (Perfect for your shower, head too). Another item I must have onboard is Yankee Candle Good Air Candles. I buy a dozen little votive size candles (Bed, Bath Beyond) take the plastic wrap off; and put them in areas I want to stay fresh. (I’ve never even burned them! They’re that good!) I drop one in the bottom of my trash can, under the bag, works like a charm. Then tuck remainder in storage areas here and there, our boat smells great all season. Plus they are super inexpensive. (Note: I have never used in food storage area). And to bring it home, Microfiber cleaning cloths, soft and super strong to get the job done fast! Use wet or dry, from dusting to washing down galley, plus reusable. Galley good!
Hope these little tips help you move from chores to cheers in record time. And after all that clean up… here’s a super good, super easy delic dish to enjoy when the cleaning gloves come off!
ROWE BOAT CHICKEN WING DIP
Pre-heat oven or grille 400° - Grease 6x9-inch dish
- 13 oz. Chicken deli meat, canned or leftovers) fine chopped (about 2 cups)
- 12 oz. Cream Cheese
- 1 cup Celery – fine chopped
- ½ cup Frank’s Hot Sauce (of course adjust to your heat level, start w/less)
- 1 cup Crumbly Blue Cheese (best quality you can get, add more if you like)
- 1 bag of Tostitos Scoops / or regular chips
Cook cream cheese, celery, hot sauce in microwave 3 minutes. Stir until blended well.
Add chicken and blue cheese. Put in greased 6x9-inch dish. Cover with foil.
Bake 20 minutes, until bubbly and hot in center.
(*or microwave about 5 minutes; check that center is hot.*)
