The Toledo Yacht Club's history dates back to 1865. By the early 1900s TYC was located on property known as Bay View Park. A fire destroyed the frame building in 1906, and the present masonry clubhouse was built in 1908 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. TYC is the 11th oldest yacht club in the United States.

Commodore Mills founded the “Mills Trophy” yacht sailing race. In 1909 William Taft, President of the United States, gifted TYC the “Presidents Cup." Trophy cases and nautical memorabilia fill every corner of the club, reminding members and guests of yachting traditions.

A Sheltered Deep Water Port on the Maumee Bay
Docking at TYC is second to none and only few clubs can provide sheltered, yet convenient access to the Maumee River. Boating members have access to a leisurely cruise up river, or to the open waters of Lake Erie to take part in its great sailing and fishing.

The stately clubhouse continues her legacy with a formal dining room, complete banquet service, and a full ballroom. The Den Bar offers casual lunches with a fireplace and satellite television.

The restaurant is expertly run by Chef Dan McNabb. Dan, along with his wife Kelly, take pride in offering great food, service, and affordable prices. Fresh quality products delivered with passion and pride will always lead to a successful meal experience. The dining room is also now open to the public.

Whether dinner for two or a few hundred, the menu offers something for everyone. Prime rib is slowly roasted to perfection; all steaks are choice and hand cut; walleye, perch, and salmon are always on the menu — as are the half pound black angus burgers, sandwiches, and salads.

A Grand Adventure in Relaxation and Recreation
TYC is known for its Back to the Bay in March, Opening of the Port Celebrations on Memorial Day, and the prestigious Mills Sailing Race. Family activities also include monthly cookouts, an Easter egg hunt, and brunch with Santa.

The swimming pool affords members a great way to escape when not on the water. Relax around the deck with signature drinks and food served right to your lounge chair.

Tennis, basketball, and a children's playground can all be found on campus. A sheltered picnic area set in a secluded area away from the club activities is reserved for private parties.

Toledo Yacht Club has transient dockage and accepts reservations.
