Solace Boats 41CS
Published: Sunday, August 15, 2021
Solace Boats is a relatively new brand for many, though almost all are familiar with its widespread roots. Founder Stephen Dougherty cut his teeth on the production floor at Boston Whaler, and soon thereafter he and his father started their own notable brands such as Edgewater and Everglades Boats. A few years ago, Stephen decided it was time to create something new and different. Solace made its big debut in 2019 with its first model, the 345. This radical new design won several best in show awards, the NMMA Innovation Award, and to top it off, Boating magazine’s “Boat of the Year.” Not a bad start for a new company.
Following up on their successful introduction, Solace just launched the all new 41CS. This 41’ center console features a twin ventilated step running surface and, like its predecessor, a Carbon-Innegra infused hull. Carbon fiber and Innegra are used throughout the entire boat and were chosen for their unparalleled strength and weight savings. While not a featherweight, this behemoth is easily a couple thousand pounds lighter than any other boat in its class, making it easier to transport and more efficient to run. With its 12’ 3” beam and oversized console, you will find the cabin to be well appointed and comfortable for overnight trips.
Though it is not short on fishing amenities—such as dual 50 gal livewells, multiple macerated fish boxes, tackle storage everywhere, and an uncluttered single level deck all the way around—this is still very much a boat for all to enjoy. With seating for 15+ people, all cushions utilize memory foam for total comfort on the long runs. The large hardtop will keep everyone out of the sun while the forward-opening windshield will let the breeze flow. The list of standard equipment and features are unlike any other boat. Gyro stabilization, Kenyon BBQ grill, 16,000 BTU reverse cycle air-conditioning, microwave, premium JL Audio stereo system, digital switching, and a full suite of Garmin electronics with 22” screens are just to name a few. Onboard power is supplied with the standard MASE diesel genset as well as a 12v to 110v inverter system for those days you just want total peace and quiet. The 41 is also available with fish box chillers as well as a Frigibar 540 LB per day freshwater ice chipper, making extended trips easier.
With the optional tower that seats three people, you will have a commanding view of your surroundings and full control over the boat as well as all systems. The tower is easy to fold and requires no tools.
With offerings from both Yamaha and Mercury in twin, triple, or quad engine configurations, you are certain to find the right package for your cruising needs. Speeds range from 35-50 MPH at cruise while top end ranges from 65-80 MPH. Fuel capacity is 525 gals and, when combined with the optional 150 gal auxiliary tank, you will find yourself venturing further in search of new adventures.
