Sailing: Good For You, Good For The World®

Have you heard the term “experiential marketing,” meaning hands-on participation in learning something new? Now this trend has transitioned to “experiential travel,” where more and more adventure-seekers are expecting a totally immersive, hands-on learning opportunity. That’s the very definition of our US Sailing certification courses, available at six resort locations on Florida’s Gulf Coast and in the British Virgin Islands. And, we use a phrase: “Sailing. Good For You – Good For the World®.”

At America’s #1 Sailing School®, we offer students the opportunity to learn a new skill that will provide fun and adventure throughout their life, enjoying time on the water with family and friends, exploring exotic destinations and learning about other cultures. All the while, the better sailor you become, the more efficient you become, using your engine less, and trimming your sails to maximum effectiveness. To that end, Offshore Sailing School has launched a new six-day/seven-night experiential course called Fast Track to Sailing™ that provides a Bachelor of Sailing Certificate for new and returning sailors.

“This industry-first Fast Track to Sailing Course is a result of comments we received from our Learn to Sail course graduates over the past year, asking for a more intense course over more days that takes them from beginner through advanced sailing levels. This new course is also an excellent refresher for anyone who learned how to sail but hasn’t been able to enjoy the sport in a while,” Doris Colgate, President of Offshore Sailing School, shared recently.

Taught on the school’s award-winning Colgate 26 sailboats, this comprehensive course covers basic sailing, coastal navigation, and advanced day sailing/cruising skills in 44 hours over six days.

Except for 1-1/2 days of in-depth classroom navigation education involving using charts and electronic equipment, participants in this immersive program are trained on-water all other days, starting with a classroom lecture each morning and six hours of hands-on instruction, with a lunch seminar ashore.

The first Fast Track to Sailing Course starts November 1, 2020, at Offshore Sailing School’s Captiva Island, Florida, location. Students will stay ashore each night at South Seas Island Resort.
