Innovative LunaMar SmartDOCKING Systems Make Docking Easier

Published: Wednesday, December 5, 2018

After enjoying a full day of boating, returning to a dark dock or finding a slip at an unfamiliar marina can be stressful. Not anymore.

LunaMar SmartDOCK™ and SmartSLIP™ systems remotely activate personal dock or slip lights, lower a boat lift, start a generator, and more from over 1 NM away using the VHF radio already on board. There are no extra devices to carry, misplace, or lose and no internet connection is needed. Upon arrival, LunaMar SmartNAV™ makes docking easier by guiding the boater to accurately dock the boat.

LunaMar SmartDOCK, made for personal docks, means no more struggling to dock in the dark or standing off while waiting for the boat lift to drop. All docking preparations are done in advance using the VHF radio.

SmartSLIP, configured for marinas, provides similar benefits and safeguards to transient and long-term slip holders. Marina customers can use their VHF radio to remotely light up their assigned slip and easily locate it, among other features.

SmartDOCK and SmartSLIP conveniently integrate with existing lighting, boat lift, and other systems and are easy to use. Simply enter a 3-digit “click” code into any type of VHF radio to remotely activate the systems and prep the dock or slip for arrival. Control how long the dock or slip lights remain on, whether the light is a steady beam or blinks, how far to lower the boat lift into the water, and more.

SmartNAV is an innovative, intelligent docking system that makes docking easier by using geometric algorithms and a set of bright, multi-colored LED lights that help the boater align the boat with the dock or slip and accurately dock the boat. SmartNAV is simple to use and convenient to install; it can be located on pilings, dock ends, slip spaces, and more.

Patent-pending LunaMar™ systems are designed and made 100% in the USA by LSI Controls, Inc., which has been in business for over 30 years. LSI’s CEO — an MIT engineer, Navy veteran and avid boater — invented LunaMar because he knows “a bad docking experience can quickly ruin a great day on the water.”
