First Annual “Harborside Market” Comes To Novi, March 14-17

Published: Wednesday, March 6, 2019

There is a new show in town – Harborside Market, scheduled for March 14-17, 2019, at the newly expanded Suburban Collection Showplace. The uniquely focused market will consist of more than 100 exhibits specifically chosen to create an experience reminiscent of the times spent in many of Michigan’s charming harbor communities.

“There are shared sensations that boaters, lakefront property owners, and harbor town lovers yearn for and dream of even when they are in the middle of winter,” said Show Manager Nicki Polan. “This market brings these sensations back at a time when most people need it most.”

Harborside Market is strategically positioned just prior to springtime launch, when consumers are beginning to think of, plan for, and purchase for the upcoming season. It is also positioned at a time when cabin fever is at its peak, allowing visitors a taste of summer in the midst of a Michigan winter.

The experience won’t be limited to just shopping; Harborside Market producers are planning entertainment, food, and drinks around the harbor theme as well. Giveaways and pre-season discounts make the event even more appealing and round out the lakefront lifestyle experience.

Polan, who also manages the Novi Boat Show that runs during Harborside Market, sees a natural crossover between Harborside Market and the products featured and sold at the Novi Boat Show. “The Novi Boat Show is the last indoor boat show of the season and many boats, motors, trailers, and accessories are sold at this show,” said Polan. “With Harborside Market alongside, these four days are not exclusively about boating anymore. It’s now about premium innovative products, travel, lake living experiences, and the coastal lifestyle.”

Exhibits include original artwork, upscale soft goods to refresh your lakefront living, unique and practical products to make your summer experiences more comfortable and easier to enjoy, tastes, smells, and touches of summer living, and so much more.

Harborside Market is owned and produced by the Michigan Boating Industries Association (MBIA), the voice of boating in Michigan. Revenue generated for this event is returned back to fund boater’s interests via MBIA’s programs and services. For more information, visit or call 734.261.0123.
