Finally, An Anchoring Solution for Pontoons

Published: Wednesday, July 1, 2020

Pontoon owners have needed an anchoring solution that is unobtrusive to the design and functionality of their style of boat for years! Not only has the lack of a rope locker created limited anchoring options, but above-deck solutions currently on the market tend to be plastic tripping hazards with protruding anchor rode and bow rollers that get in the way of the boating experience, especially when walking on-deck or when trailering your pontoon to the water. Other below-deck alternatives are impossible to reach when it’s time to troubleshoot any problems, creating another hassle rather than a solution. Regardless, these manual solutions offer little-to-no integration with the pontoon’s helm controls.

Now, however, there IS a solution for your pontoon anchoring problems. E-Z Anchor Puller Mfg. Co. has designed a one-of-a-kind anchoring solution that’s applicable for the EX-1, EX-2 or EZ-1 models. Appropriately called the Pontoon Anchoring Solution, it is specifically designed to work with pontoons of any brand or size to provide the most convenient, long-lasting, and “hidden” anchoring solution using high quality materials and delivering performance at an affordable cost.

Simple for dealers and DIYers to install, each E-Z Anchor Puller Pontoon Anchoring Solution comes with one of two bow roller options, retractable or hinged, and their choice of mounting plate for their winch, topside or universal underside.

Either style of bow roller comes tucked away in a square aluminum tube raceway, which provides a convenient pathway below-deck for the rope and chain to travel between the bow roller and drum anchor winch. These hollow raceways are designed to be attached perpendicular to the C or Z aluminum channel cross members located below the pontoon deck. Doing so allows the boater to either hide the retractable-style bow roller or hoist the hinged-style bow roller above deck whenever their pontoon is being transported from storage to the waterfront.

For the mounting plate options, the Topside deck mounting plate is a discreet, smooth, company-branded stainless steel cover, which protects boaters from nicking bare feet or tripping above deck. The Universal underside mounting plate allows boaters to install their drum anchor completely beneath the deck, without the need to bolt through the deck, creating a truly invisible anchoring experience. Both styles of mounting plates are designed to work flawlessly with E-Z Anchor Puller’s Hero EX-1/EX-2 or Patriot EZ-1 drum anchor winch.

Whatever option you choose, these unique, self-launching bow roller designs allow the anchor to fall when the rope and chain is loosened, all without being “hung up” or balanced on the roller. With no external fasteners, no external electrical terminals, and no external brush caps, all of E-Z Anchor Puller’s drum anchor winch motors are IP68 waterproof submersible with patented technology that eliminates any internal condensation inside the motor. This prevents moisture from collecting inside, which is ultimately the primary reason motors tend to corrode and fail.
