Cruisers Yachts’ 46 Cantius

Published: Wednesday, January 16, 2019

The 46 Cantius is a new design from Cruisers Yachts’ engineering group in collaboration with Facheris Designs. The 46 Cantius will replace the 45 Cantius in their new 32 – 60 feet line-up.

Starting at the transom, the 46 features a hydraulic swim platform capable of lifting 650 lbs. When lowered, an integrated staircase allows you to easily get from the platform to the cockpit. The transom also features ample storage and room for an optional refrigerator and grill.

The cockpit features a large, L-shaped seating area to the port side and access from the swim platform on the starboard side. The L-shaped seating is complimented by a cockpit table, icemaker, and refrigerator. A MakeFast sunshade can be electronically extended from the hardtop for protection from the sun. The salon door has three sliding glass panes; the main entry being the middle pane that also functions as a door. The salon door can also open completely by sliding each pane to the port side. This creates a large indoor-outdoor entertainment area in seconds as the door is very easy to maneuver.

As you enter the cabin, the galley is situated aft and to the port side. The galley features a refrigerator/freezer combo, cooktop, convection microwave, large sink, and ample storage. Forward of the galley is a large dinette with opposed sofa seating on the starboard side just behind the helm station. The dinette easily converts to a sleeping area for two by removing the table and sliding the starboard-facing seat base out. The backrest then fills in to complete the sleeping area. The finishing touch to the upper salon is the gorgeous 360 degree views you get with the panoramic windows and the opening sunroof.

The foredeck has U-shaped seating built into the deck. The U-shaped seating is very versatile as there are two chaise lounge seats that have adjustable seat backs. A table is also built into this on centerline. A shade is available on the foredeck to escape the sun.

The accommodations deck features two staterooms and two heads. The master stateroom is full beam and situated mid-ship with abundant natural light from the large hull windows on each side. The master stateroom has a queen size berth, lounge seating area to the port, and abundant storage to the starboard. The master also has a large private head complete with a stall shower.

The VIP stateroom is positioned forward with a queen size, island berth. The VIP has private access to the day head. Storage is plentiful with two hanging clothes lockers and drawers beneath the berth.

The 46 Cantius is powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS 600s rated at 435 HP each. She has a top speed of 35 mph and comfortable cruise speed of 30 mph.
