Capria Dry Stack System has a Fast Return on Investment

Published: Sunday, August 8, 2021

Marina owners add dry stack components to their operations for increased revenue. Savvy ones, however, install a state-of-the-art CAPRIA semi-automated crane and launcher system. Fast and straightforward for a contractor to install, it quickly yields a return on investment and boosts customer satisfaction. Unlike a traditional forklift, it can pull a boat up to 42' L and 22,000 lbs. from a rack and have it floating in less than three minutes.

The typical construction or expansion of a wet slip marina requires an extensive permitting process and a massive financial layout. A CAPRIA solution uses far less square footage—often resulting in lower taxes. It saves premium in-water space for sailboats and large yachts.

A CAPRIA storage facility can be built as open or closed as needed for the application. It doesn't even require concrete flooring, further reducing the overall construction investment. Almost all have roofs, but some in colder climates have side walls to protect winter stored boats—a source of year-round income.

By necessity, marinas require a massive electrical infrastructure. While a CAPRIA dry stack solution is all-electric, it by no means comes anywhere near the cost of building and maintaining the power grid needed for traditional in-water storage.

The lower initial capital expenditure is only part of the financial lens. With reduced insurance premiums, less system and facility maintenance, and fewer personnel needed, overall marina operating expenses decrease. Once the greater number of boats that can be stored is factored in, profitability soars.

One constant issue marinas face is retaining owners season after season. With a CAPRIA dry stack solution, a boat can be in the water within minutes of its owner calling. This is a recipe for satisfied, repeat customers and a highly efficient, money-making operation.

CE-marked with ISO 9001 certification, the CAPRIA dry stack system uses semi-automated Top- and Bottom-Running Cranes and a range of vessel launchers. A video is at bit.ly/CAPRIA.
