Over 40 years ago, George Rossiter decided he didn’t want to be like most people, he wanted to build boats. And stubbornly, that’s what he did. He built rowing boats—not little square-bottom things, but sleek, streamlined boats, in which a person could find fitness and enjoyment. He built hydrodynamic, smooth-in-the water boats, and created innovations that others should have thought of but never did.

In 2007 George met Scott Hanson and a new chapter began. The two men shared a passion for boats and quickly realized that there was an opportunity for Scott to realize his dream which began at the Landing School in Kennebunkport, ME years earlier, and George to pass on his legacy of knowledge and skill.

Since then Rossiter has experienced continued growth focusing on building and designing new boats that perform like something much bigger for customers throughout the Great Lakes, eastward into New England, and south to Florida.

“Yesterday was a great test of our Rossiter 14 Side Console, and she passed with flying colors !!!! It was a classic summer day on Lake Winnipesaukee with a strong 10-15 mph breeze, it handled perfectly in all conditions…which with our previous boat would have left our backs sore and teeth cracked from all of the pounding. Instead we just had grins from ear to ear…" Bruce, Concord, NH

“Scott, I just wanted to sit down and send off a quick note to tell you how pleased I am with my new Rossiter 23. She meets and exceeds all of my expectations. After thirty five years in the marine industry that is not easy to accomplish. The handling and exceptionally dry ride in all conditions make her a joy in all weather. We use the boat to commute to our home on a bridgeless island so we have to be able to go in any weather. Thank you again for your commitment to quality.” Michael, Sarasota, FL

As a result of the ever increasing demand for its boats, Rossiter recently moved to a state of the art 92,000 sq. ft. plant, allowing for increased capacity while staying focused on producing some of the finest rowing boats and outboard powerboats all of which are as beautiful to look at on the water as they are to experience.

“I just wanted to let you know how much we are loving our new Rossiter Runabout. The design is beautiful and it rides great.  We've been picnicking, tubing, wakeboarding etc. and it's been awesome.” Rossiter Owners Kara & Jeff, Georgian Bay, ON

In the end, it’s Rossiter’s uncompromising commitment to quality, style and performance that can be experienced in every boat it creates including the new Rossiter 23 Classic Day Boat, as well as the renowned 17’ Classic Runabout and Center Console models.
