Pursuit Boats S 428

Pursuit Boats S 428: The Epitome of a Legend

When it came to creating the flagship of Pursuit Boats’ center console Sport Series, they aimed for iconic. And, that’s exactly what they achieved. The size, power, and amenities built into the brand new S 428 deem it the epitome of a legend—with the ability to cruise, entertain, and fish in unrivaled style and comfort.

With an LOA of 43' 9", a 13' beam, and a formidable wake powered by quad Yamaha 425 XTO engines, the S 428 is the largest and most potent Pursuit ever built. It cruises comfortably at 31 MPH at 3500 RPMs, with a top speed of 59.3 MPH. Furthermore, it has all the proprietary innovations and high caliber finishes that this prestigious brand is known for. Every last detail truly puts this boat in a league of its own.

Let’s start with the spacious bow. A cut-through in the bow seating allows for easier access to the anchor locker or the forward coaming if you’re fishing the bow. Like all Pursuit Sport models, the S 428 comes standard with a horizontal anchor windlass system, allowing you to confidently deploy and retrieve the anchor with helm controls or the remote located in the locker. The system is mounted to a heavy-duty fiberglass beam and features a through stem anchor chute to receive the stainless-steel plow style anchor, complete with a self-righting shackle.

In the bow, you’ll discover the first of the ample social zones of the S 428. Two electronic-hinged backrests fold out for lounging on the streamlined wrap-around seats. The cushions lift to reveal insulated, fiberglass-finished storage perfect for stowing gear or keeping drinks chilled. Here, you’ll also find the chaise-style bow seats—arguably the best in the house—providing unprecedented comfort as well as a feeling of security while running. The bow further impresses with an easily accessible table and its own audio controls, drink holders, and safety handrails, letting you entertain forward however you desire. You can’t help but notice the glimmering port and starboard views through the innovative hull side windows from this angle.

As you move fore and aft along the generous, hand-rail lined walkways on either side of the helm, you reach command central, which is ergonomically designed for ease of operation and offers an exceptional view. Under the sleek hardtop, triple helm seats feature additional adjustments for the captain—vertical, forward, and aft. Individual armrests and footrests for each seat and A/C vents provide the ultimate in comfort. If the weather turns, you’ll have plenty of protection at the helm with the oversized hardtop and laminated windshield. For increased guest comfort, the second row of stowable seating with footrests resides under the hardtop.

Below the deck, you’ll find the bright, luxuriously appointed cabin. The windows were intentionally designed to align with the revolutionary hull side windows, providing natural light and beautiful views of the horizon. Classic details accent the plush seating area, which effortlessly transforms into a sleep space. You’ll also discover bountiful storage and an impeccably designed head with an available shower—perfect for overnighting in your favorite port.

Pursuit is known for engineering versatility into its boats, and the S 428 is no exception. Within the aft cockpit—the largest in its class—you’ll find a patented transom seat with a full-height backrest that pairs with the aft-facing mezzanine seat to create yet another social zone. If the fish are calling, close the fold-away transom seat, and the wide-open cockpit gives you plenty of space to put up your lines, right alongside the twin 36-gallon, recirculating, lighted livewells. A 70-gallon wrapped coil fish box in the transom will hold your haul or cool your drinks. Plus, in-floor fish boxes, port and starboard with diaphragm pump-out provide plenty of room for even your biggest day on the lake.

Adding to its icon status, the S 428 features a starboard electro-hydraulic hull-side beach platform. That’s in addition to a port-side dive door! So, you have access to the water on both sides of the boat. Just imagine hauling in a record-breaking catch, heading out for a swim, or returning after an on-shore excursion. Maneuvering gear and hanging out with friends and family is more relaxing, with plenty of room to move about on deck.

Ready to entertain? The S 428 is ready, too. Simply move the secondary helm seats back to their aft position, and you have access to a fully-equipped entertainment center. It features an accessible cooler, grill, sink, and cutting board, which can double as a bait prep station. For additional elbow room in the cockpit, a patented push-button control slides the aft-facing seat with ease into its forward position. Need more cover? Choose the optional Make fast Sunshade. It quietly expands or retracts at the touch of a button.

As demonstrated, the S 428 is the epitome of a legend, with a fit and finish that is Pure Pursuit. This makes it the flagship representation of what Pursuit delivers to the center console market. And it joins the rest of Pursuit’s Sport Series, including the highly popular S 378 and the new S 268, giving you options as you choose the ideal vessel for your family.
