The 17th Annual Lakeside Wooden Boat Show will take place during the Plein Air Art Festival on July 19 from 12pm-4pm.
Lakeside is located halfway between Cleveland and Toledo on the Lake Erie shore. The boat show and art festival features more than 80 wooden boats from across the region, as well as plein air artists and one-of-a-kind paintings, live music and food.
The term “en plein air” means painting “in the open air.” The artists will be painting scenes throughout the community, and all are invited to watch them paint from a social distance.
On Sunday, the Lakeside waterfront will transform into an outdoor showroom of classic wooden boats, as cruisers line the lawn of Hotel Lakeside for the 17th Annual Lakeside Wooden Boat Show from 12-4 p.m. Please note: due to the high level of water, most boats will be showcased on land this year.
Several plein air events will also take place on Sunday. The Plein Air Paintout will be held from 12:30-2 p.m. along the shoreline and in Bettinger Park.
Paintings that were completed by the plein air artists throughout the weekend will be available for purchase during the Wet Paint Sale, held from 2:30-4 p.m. Sunday south of the Pavilion.
