THINGS TO DO

MORE THAN BOATS – IT SHOWS OFF THE LAKEFRONT!
While the stars of this free event will always be the exciting fleet of pleasure boats, it’s also a great opportunity for all attendees to experience the adventures, cuisine and special atmosphere that the North Coast Harbor gives to the downtown lakefront. It’s a setting of pure energy and activity.

ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME

From an amazing collection of artifacts from the roots of R & R, to incredible historic videos, and from the endless assortment of original concert costumes to having fun at the R & R pinball machines - a visit to America’s treasured museum of music is an experience. The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones and so many more are highlighted in unforgettable ways. After climbing aboard the boats at the boat show, step inside for the most unique musical museum in the world. The Rock Hall food truck will be located just outside the boat show, on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame site.

GREAT LAKES SCIENCE CENTER

The important thing is to never stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing!” –the great Albert Einstein said it, and he could have been talking about the hundreds of hand-on exhibits and activities that are the trademarks of this unique look into the world around us. When you want to take a break, a visit to the Science Center Café located on the lower level will give you a unique view of the North Coast Harbor while you enjoy a delicious snack. A visit to the boat show, and coupled with a stroll over to this showcase of everything from space exploration to exciting science demonstrations, will make your memorable day at the North Coast Harbor.

STEAMSHIP WILLIAM G. MATHER

Somewhat larger than the pleasure craft in the boat show, a tour of the historic steamship William G. Mather will give you real insight if you’ve ever wondered what it’s like inside a giant ore carrier. Tour this restored 618-foot historic ship and imagine what it was like on board a working Great Lakes freighter. Explore the 1925-built Mather from stem to stern. See its huge cargo holds. Stand in the brass and oak pilot house. Yes, there were even elegant guest quarters. And, marvel at the four-story engine room. You can also walk the decks and marvel at the “engineering firsts” in this ship that helped transform Northeast Ohio into a great industrial center. Experience the golden era of steamships on one of the greatest oar carriers to sail the Lakes.

MODERN MEXICAN DINING AT NUEVO CLEVELAND

Located lakeside on the East 9th Street Pier, Nuevo Cleveland offers spectacular views of Lake Erie, the Cleveland Browns Stadium and the boat show. The building was designed from the ground up boasting walls of windows to bring in natural light and soak up the unique sceneries that surround the North Coast Harbor. It affords a nearly 360-degree view of the Cleveland Skyline and Lake Erie with patios both upstairs and down. The Nuevo menu always features fresh, locally-grown produce, the finest locally-raised meats and, of course, artisan tequilas. But don’t overlook the complimentary wines, hand-crafted cocktails and margaritas as well as an extraordinary selection of Mexican and small-batch domestic beers.

CRUISE ON THE GOODTIME

A Cleveland tradition, the Goodtime is marking its 60th year of taking thousands of Clevelanders and tourists for luncheon or narrated sightseeing cruises across the lakefront and up the mighty Cuyahoga River. When you’ve climbed aboard your fill of power and sailboats displayed in the Boat Show, you can hop on board the Goodtime that will sail several times each day during Boat Show weekend. Who knows, maybe they’ll even pipe in the song “Sea Cruise!
