Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – GOST® (Global Ocean Security Technologies), a world leader in marine security, tracking, monitoring and video surveillance systems, announced that its Phantom Security and Monitoring (SM) system prevented the sinking of a 65-foot Fairline.
“I got a warning call from my GOST Phantom earlier today to alert me to ‘high water main bilge’, not the thing a boat owner likes to hear,” said Matt Griffin, owner. “I asked a friend in Fort Lauderdale to check it out. When he got there he phoned me in Texas to tell me the alarm was real and that the air conditioner pump was blowing water all over the main bilge. We shut off the pump and tragedy was averted. This was a very lucky save and my GOST system paid for itself today!”
The GOST Phantom SM offers security and monitoring capabilities in one package. The Phantom SM helps protect against intrusion and theft, as well as monitors for shore power, low battery voltage, smoke detection and high water.
“Our systems are designed to report directly to owners and crew in the event of an emergency, something we hope is never needed,” says Danny Ashmore, global product specialist for GOST. “However, if and when a high water incident like this does occur, having a system owners can rely on to notify them to take immediate action can mean the difference between just a minor incident and the complete loss of a vessel. This peace of mind is invaluable and lets boaters focus on the most important part of ownership, enjoyment.”
