SkipperBud's Acquires Island Cove Marina on Cass Lake, Oakland County, MI

Published: Saturday, October 7, 2017

SkipperBud's has acquired Island Cove Marina on Cass Lake at 3981 Cass Elizabeth Rd, Waterford, MI 48328. The new name will be SkipperBud's - Cass Lake Marina. The marina is currently full service with 125 floating docks, fuel dock, brokerage sales, service, and repair facilities, and a large dry-stack storage building. The marina is a gem however, it has seen its better days. SkipperBud's team will immediately add new boat sales to the facility, and plans to transform the marina and grounds over the next 24 months. Renovations will include adding a new dry-stack boat storage building, service and sales facilities and new docks.

"It's about the location," says SkipperBud's President, Mike Pretasky Jr. "It has always been a great location. It's easy for boaters to access, being just minutes from M-59 in the heart of Oakland County, on the largest all-sports lake."

According to Pretasky, this will be a destination location in the Detroit Metro market. "We are committed to this market and not afraid to make a long term investment in Oakland County. With this great location, and our other three dealerships in the Detroit area, we are increasing our ability to service boaters."

Pretasky states, "I am also looking for new pontoon, sport boat, and deck boat lines to round out the new product line-up at this facility." SkipperBud's has a passion for having the right boats for its wide array of customers.

SkipperBud's - Cass Lake Marina will become SkipperBud's sixth location in Michigan.
