National Museum of the Great Lakes will hold Marine Mart

Toledo, Ohio - The National Museum of the Great Lakes will be hosting a Marine Mart this Saturday, August 9 from 10am-4pm at the museum at 1701 Front St., Toledo, OH 43605. Vendors will be selling photographs, books, memorabilia and artifacts to the general public. The National Museum of the Great Lakes will be selling Great Lakes and general maritime material. 2000 books on all aspects of maritime history, models and other memorabilia included.
Members of the National Museum of the Great Lakes will be get a sneak preview from 9am-10am before it opens to visitors. Money raised from the Marine Mart will benefit the National Museum of the Great Lakes.
The National Museum of the Great Lakes is owned and operated by the Great Lakes Historical Society. Founded in 1944, the Great Lakes Historical Society has been preserving our shared cultural history by publishing a quarterly journal Inland Seas since 1945; by operating a maritime museum and research library since 1952; by offering educational programs to the general public since 1956; and by conducting underwater archaeological research across the Great Lakes since 2001. The opening of the National Museum of the Great Lakes enables the Great Lakes Historical Society continue it’s mission to preserve and make known the important history of the Great Lakes.
