Published: Tuesday, April 12, 2016

The CIC Club will host a presentation by Skip Dieball of Toledo May 7, 2016. In his sailing career, Dieball has earned 37 Major One Design Titles, including the 2015 Etchells World Championship held last November in Hong Kong. In addition to these achievements, he actively pursued an opportunity to represent the United States in both the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games, won the prestigious 2009 US SAILING Championship of Champions, was nominated for the US SAILING’s Van Allen Clark Sportsman of the year in 2010 and been nominated twice for the ROLEX YACHTSMAN OF THE YEAR (2004 and 2015).
Come and hear the story of Skip and “Team Aretas”, in just three years, went from learning one of the more complex one-design keelboats to winning their top prize in 2015. Check out how they evolved their team approach, as Skip Dieball takes you along through the journey. Their dramatic last race finish, with all the pre-race strategy and leg-by-leg tactics, caps an impressive trip to Hong Kong and the 2015 Etchells World Championship.

Skip will speak at 3:30 pm on Saturday May 7, 2016 at the Catawba Island Club.
