It's never been easier to recycle shrink wrap in Michigan with Dr. Shrink's Recycling Run 2011.  With the simplicity of this program, boaters in the lower peninsula of Michigan have no excuse not to recycle their covers.

For the second year, Dr. Shrink is partnering with Bay Area Recycling for Charities in Traverse City for pick-ups in Michigan.  This year its 48' trailer will make two runs, one in April and the other in May.  Profits from this effort will be donated to local Michigan charities.

Participants must buy REBAG®s for $2.50 each from Dr. Shrink and stuff it with shrink wrap only, no strapping, buckles, vents or other contaminants.  Then, participants fill out a form with their address and request a week for pick-up.  Forms can be obtained by contacting Dr. Shrink, Inc. or Andy Gale of Bay Area Recycling at [email protected].  The Dr. Shrink, Inc. and Bay Area trailer takes it from there.

The program offers an environmentally friendly option to all local boat storage facilities, marinas and boat owners.  Marinas and storage facilities are encouraged to accept plastic wrap from area boaters.

Dr. Shrink shrink wrap is a #4 LDPE premium, virgin resin material that is easily recyclable into a variety of usable consumer products.  It will not biodegrade in a landfill.
